Shona is a London based bead designer who loves to create a big impact with tiny beads and makes elegant, wearable jewellery with a focus on beautiful finishing. Shona has taught at the Bead & Button show in Milwaukee and
regularly teaches across the UK.
Annette has 22 years teaching experience in beadwork, textiles,
mixed media and design. She regularly teaches residential weekend courses as well as day classes. Annette has also taught at the Great British Bead Show.
Sallyann has a City and Guilds Certificate in Embroidery, Bead Needle Weaving and an Adult
Teaching Certificate. She has been teaching beading for approxiateley four years and loves all types of beading.
Lynn has been in the embroidery and bead trade for over 24 years.
She has taught at the Great British Bead Show and in Japan for the Japanese Bead Society as well as at the Studio and to groups. She is a director of Stitchncraft Beads
Justine has been makingthings since she was small - either knitting, crochet, dressmaking,
or origami, but beadweaving brings together her mathematical side, and love of solving problems, which is often required when
devising new designs.
Jen has been beading since she started working at Stitchncraft Beads and has discovered an affinity for beadweaving. Her desire to share her work through patterns and tutoring is juggled with being a mum of two.
Heather is a popular beadwork artist, she continues to create
innovative beadwork. Her work is widely published in books and
magazines. Heather teaches regularly in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Gillian is a self taught “crafts person” and has taught beading classes in the UK, USA and Japan.
Recently she has been specialising in teaching crochet with beads,
making it easier for all to learn.
Jennifer taught herself beading in the 1990’s and finds her Maths background is a strong influence in her designs - she balances this by emphasizing colour and texture in her pieces. To date over 200 of her designs have been published in books, DVDs and Magazines.
Maggie is a beadwork artist from the USA who is inspired by jewelery, mosaics, and frescoes. She translates her passion for ancient history into jewelery made using seedbeads and
semi-precious stones. Classical Elegance, was published in 2011.
Chloe has a love for beads and all things sparkly! As an experienced jewellery designer and teacher, she was previously the editor of popular publication Bead & Jewellery magazine. Chloe has been a member of the Starman design team and regularly contributes to jewellery making magazines.
Melanie de Miguel
Melanie is an internationally renowned beadwork tutor and
designer. Experimenting with design and seeking to merge her two passions, beadwork and science, Melanie created Hubble Stitch and has published two books on the subject.
Siân has been beading for about 18 years and has had work published in various books and
magazines. Siân has taught workshops locally and in Germany and last year her first book ‘Siân’s Needle Cases’ was published.
Sabrina has been beading for four years and loves to use different media. All things bright and sparkling are her beading favourites. When she is not busy in the Studio helping visitors she will be busy planning her next beady project.
Sabine Lippert is a self taught bead designer teaching her designs for more then 8 years. She gave up her full time corporate job in 2011 to concentrate on her love of beads and became a full time bead artist. Sabine teaches widely in Europe and USA.
Angela has been making beautifully detailed bead embroidery pieces for private commissions and galleries for the last ten years. Her work is in many private collections and in the last few years she has started to share her knowledge, believing that everyone can bead embroider.
Pru has enjoyed jewellery making for many years and discovered
kumihimo braiding nearly seven years ago. In 2012 she was first in the Braiding Britain competition. She is a regular contributor to magazines and appeared on a jewellery making TV channel.
Laura has been beading since she was a child. Training in art, colour, theatrical costuming, and various other disciplines, have led Laura to teaching the art of beadwork. Laura is eager to share her love and knowledge with us at the Studio when she joins us to teach from the USA.
Sarah first learnt how to knit by her Grandma at the age of 8. She also embroiders and makes clothes and moved into beadwork about nine years ago. Sarah writes her own patterns and is constantly developing new shapes and structures.
Éva is a Hungarian Bead Artist best known for her numerous intricate beaded beads and rings. A self-taught beader whose unique designs has earned her a spot as a renowned teacher in her country as well as abroad and been featured in countless magazines, and competitions
Kelly is involved in the day to day running of the Studio and is often found assisting customers with their bead colour choices and offering advice on what patterns and workshops are suitable for a particular individual. Kelly is also a very keen beader.
Cynthia is a contemporary artist and teacher focusing on beadwork as her medium. She specializes in peyote stitch and off-loom weaving techniques with an emphasis on developing sculptural unsupported shapes in
beadwork. Her work has been exhibited in national and international shows
Jean Power is an awardwinning
jewellery designer and author of a
number of beading and jewellery books. She loves working in mixed media but always returns to her main love of beads.
Gary has an engineering background but for many years now he has been designing and making his own beads and jewellery which he sells. He is
constantly exploring and designing with new techniques including
chainmaille and wire work.
Sue found bead weaving in 2000 (her family says she is a beading geek). She enjoys teaching and designing with a passion. Sue achieved level 2 City and Guilds in 2009 and was nominated for
the Medal of Excellence, achieving a Highly Commended Certificate.
Anja found her love for jewellery design while working for a bead store on California’s Central Coast. Her work is often described in the following words; royal, elegant & very intricate. She has built a loyal following of students since
her first class in 2008
Jayashree was introduced to the world of beads through a bead embroidery class she took while a student in New York. Her designs have been published in Perlen Poesie, Beadwork and Bead and Button. She has taught and continues to teach at studios and stores across the USA, Bead and Button Shows and Bead Guilds.
